Throughout life we are building up walls. These walls protect us from being hurt in relationships. They protect us from hurtful words. The walls protect our ego and our self-esteem.
Sometimes we put up so many walls of defense we are unable to let any good in as well. We call it, “smelling the roses” or, “stopping to watch a sunset.”
We all have our own little protective house we live in.
One of the tricks in life is to keep our house strong so we don’t have to feel pain, but also make sure we have windows in the wall to let a beautiful breeze in.
